Playing with 30 Seconds to Mars!!!

San Francisco. Long Beach. Griffith Park. Everywhere in between. That's where we were this past Saturday. It was insane, but it was entirely worth it.

I joined in on the last leg of the performance madness, and met up with Bryan, Maz, Kris, Jenny, Kevin and Courtney to play with 30 Seconds to Mars at the Greek Theatre. If I had to describe this experience in one word, well, I couldn't. It was so amazing to be able to play with such a talented and enthusiastic group of musicians. It was sort of inspiring... I really want to be a rock star now and jump around the stage, run through big crowds and dye my hair purple. Like I said, inspiring. :)

We began the day with a pretty smooth load in, and then began rehearsing with the band. Compared to the madness it very well could have been, the rehearsal was actually quite calm and the band remained really open-minded.

After the rehearsal, we all went backstage to eat. Dinner was great. Dessert was better. I really admire anyone who can make and serve a really delicious chocolate cake, and these ladies definitely had that covered. Needless to say, I was a happy camper. Getting ready in costume and make-up was entertaining as well. Courtney had the honor of putting make-up on all of the guys. I must say she did a great job.

Playing with the band was awesome. The crowd was really interested in what we were doing, and I thought we did a pretty good job considering we were scattered in various place throughout the house, about 150 feet apart from one another. Jenny actually found some video footage of us playing on Youtube, filmed by an audience member. Check it out below:

It was great to be able to watch the parts of the show that we did not play in. Towards the end of the show, Jared Leto came out into the audience to play some acoustic stuff. He was basically standing on top of Bryan, who had to crouch and hide in the corner. Bryan had the best seat in the house! Then, when Jared jumped down from that platform, some guy jumped after him and into the okedo and shime Bryan was desperately trying to protect... the best and most dangerous seat in the house! I think Jared also stepped on Courtney's foot and brushed against Kevin. Jenny and I got to watch the show from a great spot in the audience, where we spotted Maz completely rockin' out to the last song... hair-whipping and everything! Basically, we were all star-struck.

30 Seconds to Mars really knew how to please the audience. It was a great concert, and an overall unforgettable night! :)
